Thomas Magnussen

Thomas Magnussen has a strong background in IT and system administration. Thomas started their career in 2001 as a Support Technician at NextGentel, where they provided 2nd line support to DSL customers. Thomas then worked as a Network Administrator at Pluto Communications, where they managed Linux servers, MySQL/PostgreSQL databases, and a mail system based on Postfix and Cyrus IMAP.

In 2003, Thomas joined Unlimited Technologies AS as a Network Administrator, responsible for Linux servers, Mysql/PostreSQL databases, Cisco network and switching, and the mail system. Thomas then moved to Elan IT as a Consultant, where they implemented a FreeBSD firewall, upgraded Microsoft AD and file servers, and set up a new email system using opensource Postfix and Cyrus IMAP.

Thomas continued their career as a Consultant at Medisinsk Fødselsregister and Wavefield Inseis ASA, where they deployed SAN storage and VMware clusters based on IBM and Microsoft technologies. Thomas then joined CGGVeritas as a Project Engineer, where they were responsible for developing and supporting virtualization and SAN storage on seismic vessels.

In 2011, Thomas transitioned to Wema System AS as an ICT Engineer. In this role, they supported server and network-based products on IBM, HP, Cisco, Aruba, and Riverbed. Thomas also implemented and maintained VMware clusters and SAN storage based on IBM DS and Storwize technology, as well as deployed software and OS using the MS SCCM 2012 platform.

Most recently, Thomas has been working at StormGeo as a System Administrator since 2013.

Thomas Magnussen attended Glasspaper in 2012, where they studied SCCM 2012. Before that, they attended Noroff from 2000 to 2001 and It Akademiet from 1998 to 1999. No specific degree or field of study was provided for these two institutions.
