Cathal Skelton has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2009 as the Northern Representative for Ógra Fianna Fáil, where they were responsible for putting forward the views of the Northern membership and organizing recruitment campaigns. In 2013, they took on the role of Audio Assistant at Sean Graham, writing scripts and researching sporting events. In 2015, they became a Software Developer at Aptcode Solutions, taking a leading role in designing and developing a cross-platform app. From 2016 to 2020, they worked at performanceACTIVE International Ltd as both COO and Application Developer. Most recently, they have been a Frontend Engineer at StormHarvester and a Software Engineer at Kinsetsu.

Cathal Skelton completed an OCN Level 4 in Software Development at VISTA Training Academy in 2015. Cathal obtained a Bachelor's degree in History and Politics from Queen's University Belfast between 2010 and 2013. Prior to that, they attended Christian Brothers Omagh from 2001 to 2008. Cathal has also obtained several certifications, including an ILM Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills from the Institute of Leadership & Management in 2016, an edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Python for Data Science in 2016, an ISTQB-BCS Certified Tester Foundation Level from the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2015, a Diploma in Customer Service from ALISON - Free Online Learning in 2015, and an edX Honor Code Certificate for American Capitalism: A History.
