Marcus Amman is a skilled urban and regional planner with extensive experience in various planning roles. Currently serving as a Planner for Story County since May 2019, responsibilities include zoning permit review, 911 addressing, and serving as the project lead for conditional use permits, along with GIS mapping and document design assistance. Prior experience includes working as a Transportation/Regional Planner for the Southern Iowa Council of Governments, managing federal transportation funding across multiple counties. Marcus also contributed as an Assistant Planner at the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho, where coordination with local government agencies and bicycle/pedestrian programs was key. Early experience includes a housing policy internship at the Polk County Housing Trust Fund and service in the US Army, where technical support and equipment integration were vital. Marcus holds a Bachelor’s of Science in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning from Iowa State University and an Associate of Science in Electronic Systems Technology from Western Iowa Tech Community College.
