John Defour

Teaching Artist / Director / Performer at Story Pirates

John DeFour has had a variety of work experiences. Beginning in 2010, they taught English and Drama at Salesian High School, where they also directed the school's theater program and developed new curriculum. In 2016, John worked as an entertainer at Second City Theatricals. Following that, they provided childcare services for a family from October 2016 to February 2020. In 2017, they became a teacher at Second City Hollywood. Currently, they are a teaching artist, director, and performer at Story Pirates, starting in January 2018.

John DeFour completed their high school education at University of Detroit Jesuit High School from 2001 to 2005. John then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre at Michigan State University from 2005 to 2009. Following that, John earned a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Loyola Marymount University, where they studied from 2010 to 2012.
