Von Diaz is a Senior Producer at StoryCorps since April 2014, previously holding the role of Producer. As a Freelance Journalist from June 2011 to the present, contributions have been made to notable publications including The New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, The Washington Post, NPR, Atlanta Magazine, and StoryCorps. In academia, Von Diaz served as an Adjunct Professor in Food Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from January 2020 to June 2022, and as the Lehman Brady Joint Professor in Documentary and American Studies at Duke University from November 2019 to June 2020. Prior roles include Story Development and Editorial Lead at Google, Contributor to The Splendid Table at American Public Media Group, Editor at Feet in 2 Worlds, Reporter at Race Forward, Marketing & Communications Manager at El Museo del Barrio, and Blog Editor for the Guantánamo Public Memory Project. Educational credentials include an M.A. in Journalism & Latin American and Caribbean Studies from New York University and a B.A. in Women's Studies and Spanish from Agnes Scott College.
