Brent Grime

VP Systems Development at STR

Brent Grime has a diverse and extensive work experience. Brent currently holds the position of VP Systems Development at STR since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of the Advanced Space Capabilities Group at the Department of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office from July 2018 to December 2021. Brent also worked as the Deputy Director of the Classified Program Office at the Air Force Research Laboratory from July 2016 to July 2018. Before that, they were the Director of the Space Capabilities Division at the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office from July 2013 to July 2016. Earlier in their career, Brent held the role of Director of the Electro-Optics Payload Division at the National Reconnaissance Office from May 2009 to July 2013. Brent also served as the Director of the Research & Engineering Branch at the Air Force Research Laboratory from December 2005 to May 2009. Brent started their professional journey as an Optical Engineer in the United States Air Force from December 1997 to December 2005.

Brent Grime received their education in a chronological order. Brent started their education journey in 1993 and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. Following that, from 1997 to 1999, they pursued a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Electro-Optics at Penn State University. In 2002, they furthered their education by attending the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy, specializing in Engineering Physics with a focus on Electro-Optics by 2005. Additionally, in 2016, they attended the Defense Acquisition University to complete the Program Manager's Course (PMT 401). Brent also holds additional certifications from the Defense Acquisition University, including the Defense Acquisition Program Manager Level 3, obtained in August 2012, and the Defense Acquisition Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering Level 3, obtained in July 2008.
