Michael Coon

Michael Coon is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public sector budgeting, financial management, and strategic planning. Currently serving as Adaptive Planning Principal Consultant at Strada since November 2025, Michael previously held positions as West Region Vice President at ZacTax, Special Projects Manager at MV Cheng and Associates Inc., and Chief Financial Officer for the City of Ventura. Notably, Michael led a citywide technology assessment that secured $7 million in funding and improved departmental employee engagement through team building initiatives. Michael's experience includes managing recovery efforts for the City of Richwood post-Hurricane Harvey, as well as implementing efficient budgeting processes in various municipalities. Michael holds a Master of Public Administration degree focused on Local Government and Finance from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Marriott School of Management.
