Mike Deacon

Mike Deacon is an experienced writer and editor specializing in online content for Internet marketing and SEO at Straight North since June 2016. Prior to this role, Mike served as a news editor for Daily Southtown/Chicago Tribune Media Group, overseeing staff and freelancers, managing story assignments, and coordinating print and online productions from November 2014 to January 2016. Previously, Mike held the position of news editor at Sun-Times Media and night copy desk member at SouthtownStar, where contributions led to the creation of an award-winning sports section. Mike began a career in journalism as a sports editor and writer at Daily Southtown, recognized as a lifetime honorary member of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
