Brent Rhymes has over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles, primarily in the software industry. Brent started their career at Scalable Software in 2003 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, followed by a role as General Manager at iWave Integrator in 2004-2005. In 2005, they co-founded FileKeeper and served as VP of Sales & Marketing before the company was acquired by Yosemite Technologies in 2006. Rhymes then moved on to another software company, Skywire Software, as General Manager of iWave Integrator in 2007, before the company was acquired by Oracle. In 2008, they became CEO of iWave Software until it was acquired by EMC in 2013. Brent then served as President and COO of Zimbra until it was acquired by Synacor in 2015, where they then served as EVP of Enterprise Sales & Marketing before becoming CEO of PakEnergy in 2017. In 2015, they were a member of the board of directors of the health IT company MedAssets before it was acquired by Pamplona Capital Management. Most recently, they have owned and operated Rancho de Rhymes, LLC, and in May 2023, they will start a new role as the CEO of Strata Information Group, focusing on providing services to colleges and universities.
Brent Rhymes graduated from Brazoswood High School in 1986. Brent then attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1986 to 1991 where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. In 1993, they enrolled at the University of St. Thomas (TX) and completed their MBA in Marketing in 1996.
