Markus Krygier

Co-Chief Investment Officer at Strategic Investment Group

Markus is Co-Chief Investment Officer of Strategic, a role he shares with Eric Bendickson and Tim O’Hara. As Co-CIO, he is responsible for all aspects of Strategic’s investment process, portfolios, and performance. Markus is also responsible for assessing, coordinating and communicating Strategic’s economic, capital markets, investment strategy and management outlook. He works closely with investment, research and analytical staff in developing, integrating, and implementing investment policy for the firm’s clients. Prior to joining Strategic, he was Deputy Chief Investment officer at Amundi Asset Management in London. Prior to Amundi, he worked at Dresdner Kleinwort in London as a Managing Director, Chief Debt Strategist and Global Head of FX Strategy, and at the International Monetary Fund as economist in the International Capital Markets division. Before the IMF he was Head of Global Strategy at Credit Agricole Asset Management in London and Paris.

Markus has a Ph.D. in economics from Wayne State University and holds the Advanced Studies Certificate in International Economic Policy Research from the Kiel Institute of the World Economy. He also has an M.A. in economics from Wayne State, and completed his undergraduate studies in economics and political science at the University of Freiburg in Germany.
