Paul Galloway has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Paul began their career as an independent contractor for The Context Network, where they completed quarterly company analyses of earnings, profitability, including company research and development, for several ag-based companies. Paul also recommended updates to the Context client reporting template to bring greater clarity to trends and analysis comments.
In November 2017, Paul became the Head of Treasury/Manager at American Equity. Paul led the centralization of American Equity's Treasury function through an RFP process for the selection of a treasury management system and treasury aggregator connecting to commercial banks and custodian. Paul also managed the RFP and selection of banking partner for a $1 billion securities lending program. Additionally, they opened master repurchase agreements with two additional banking partners for two American Equity legal entities to help with liquidity management. Paul played a significant role in securing membership to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, which allowed for over $1 billion in potential bank advances in support of liquidity management. Paul was also key member in closing a $3.8 billion reinsurance transaction with Brookfield Asset Management and participated on the core deal team for closing a $500 million redundant reserve transaction with Hannover Reinsurance. Paul selected the concentration banking partner through RFP process for all American Equity legal entities and managed Treasury Operations team while building out additional Treasury functions for financial planning and analysis, capital markets, rating agencies and liquidity management. Additionally, they completed capital management analyses to optimize American Equity's balance sheet structure to provide access up to $500 million plus in capital for corporate initiatives. Paul Galloway has a CFA Charter from the CFA Institute in Finance and Investments, an MBA in Finance from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences from Iowa State University.
