Paul Gay

Mr. Gay is a veteran lobbyist and public affairs specialist with over twenty years of experience in Washington, D.C. Mr. Gay leverages his Capitol Hill and Executive Branch network to help SMI’s clients secure investments in research and development programs, infrastructure projects and economic development efforts. Prior to joining SMI in 2008, Mr. Gay served as Deputy Legislative Director for Senator Robert C. Byrd (D-WV), Deputy Chief of Staff for Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA) and Legislative Director for Rep. Rick Boucher (D-VA), focusing on congressionally directed projects and issues related to energy and climate change, agriculture, space, telecommunications and transportation. Mr. Gay received a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Radford University and a Master's degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
