Rachel Adams

Head of School at STRATFORD ACADEMY INC

Dr. Rachel Adams is Stratford Academy’s 11th Head of School. Prior to assuming this role, she served as the Head of Middle School since the summer of 2021. Previously, Dr. Adams was the Associate Dean of the Middle School at Montverde Academy, a PK-12 day and boarding school in the Orlando, Florida, area. During her seven-year tenure at Montverde, she taught, was a mathematics instructional coach and a weekend administrator for boarding students. Dr. Adams was also the Volleyball Coach and Director of Volleyball Operations.

Dr. Adams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from King University in Bristol, Tennessee. She earned her Master of Science in Exercise Science and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degrees from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.

As a persevering leader, who has overcome childhood poverty, won a supposedly terminal battle with cancer, earned a doctoral degree in educational leadership, envisioned, fundraised for, and established the nation’s first high school beach volleyball academy, and served as an academic and disciplinary leader with experience in independent day and boarding schools, Dr. Adams' life's course has well-prepared her to lead at Stratford. Dr. Adams is an authentic, transparent leader, who values relationships and those around her.
