Dave Anderson

Dave Anderson was first elected as the Strathcona County Councillor, Ward 2, in October 2013. As a Councillor, Dave strives to advance the welfare and interests of the municipality as a whole. He sits on the Alberta Capital Region Wastewater Commission, Capital Region Northeast Water Services Commission, the Edmonton Transit Commission, is a member of the Canadian Urban Transit Association standing committee and most recently, Dave was appointed as Vice chair of the Edmonton Metro Region’s Servicing Committee.

Dave’s passion for his community is demonstrated by his willingness to spearhead and participate in community initiatives. Dave started the Food-4-Food initiative to bring local businesses and residents together in support of the Strathcona Food Bank. Since its inception in 2015, the event has generated over $3,000 in donations and collected more than 19,000 lbs of food.

That same year, Dave created a new community initiative to improve health and well-being, by encouraging residents to go outside and “Be Caught Being Active”. By creating this program, Dave received the Alberta Parks and Recreation Choose Well Leadership Award for all of Alberta.
