Frank Abbott, P. Eng. has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. Frank started their career as an Engineering Summer Student at Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. in 2013, where they monitored construction activities and completed detailed reports.

In 2014, Frank worked as a Summer Student at Nexen.

Frank then joined Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) in 2015 as a Relief Operator (Engineering Summer Student), overseeing PCP pumps and water disposal systems. Frank also handled production optimization and troubleshooting.

Next, Frank worked at Repsol as a Student Engineer in 2015-2016. During this time, they provided cost estimating, scoped design basis, and conducted well reviews and production monitoring.

In 2016, Frank joined Centrica Energy as a Production Engineering Student. Frank reviewed and scoped suspended wells for reactivation potential, acquired approval for pipeline tie-ins, and worked on artificial lift installation.

From 2017 to 2019, Frank worked at Canlin Energy Corporation as a Production EIT. Frank enhanced gas and liquids production by monitoring well performance, developing interventions, and completing optimization projects. Frank also played a role in reducing costs, improving reliability, and supporting field operations.

Frank then became a Production Engineer at Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd in 2019, where they continued to contribute to production optimization.

Currently, they are employed as a Thermal Production Engineer at Strathcona Resources Ltd., where their role involves thermal production engineering activities.

Throughout their career, Frank has demonstrated a strong focus on enhancing production, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.

Frank Abbott, P. Eng. holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Oil and Gas Engineering from the University of Calgary, where they completed their education in 2017. Frank is a registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) and obtained this certification from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in March 2021.
