Gene Ballachay began their work experience as an Operator at Archer Daniels Midland in 1997. In 2002, they joined Cenovus Energy as a Process Operator/Regulatory Technician, where they led environmental and safety initiatives, optimized steam oil ratio, and oversaw the installation of lift gas systems and displacement pumps. From 2011 to 2021, Gene worked at Husky Energy as an Operations Specialist - Field Projects, collaborating with various departments and providing input on operational efficiency. Currently, they are employed at Strathcona Resources Ltd. as a Field Operations Specialist.
