Oliver Wong

Facilities Engineer at Strathcona Resources Ltd.

Oliver Wong has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Oliver started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Regina in 2009. Following that, they worked at Brighton Solutions Ltd. as an Engineer In Training, where they completed stress analysis on the company's largest projects, mentored new hires, and led stress engineering on modular well pads for CNOOC Long Lake. In 2014, Oliver joined Scovan Engineering as a Project Engineer and Stress Engineer, where they served as the lead project engineer for multiple well pad, debottleneck, and maintenance projects. Oliver was responsible for improving cost and delivery through advancements in modular well pad designs, as well as creating cost estimates and schedules for project proposals. In 2022, Oliver worked at Startec Compression & Process and Startec Service as a Project Engineer, and is currently employed at Strathcona Resources Ltd. as a Facilities Engineer.

Oliver Wong earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. In May 2014, they obtained the Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Oliver later obtained another Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification from Engineers and Geoscientists BC in November 2016.
