Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic& Students Affairs) at Strathmore University

Elizabeth Gachenga is the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic& Students Affairs) at Strathmore University. Elizabeth has also worked as a Tutor and Research Assistant at Western Sydney University, where they were involved in various research projects in the areas of indigenous water governance, indigenous corporate governance, strategic environmental impact assessment law and policy as well as climate change. Additionally, Gachenga has worked as a Law Lecturer and Researcher at Strathmore University, where they taught a range of subjects including: Introduction to law, law of contracts, legal research and writing and philosophical anthropology. Her research interests lie in the area of environmental law and climate change, sustainable legal and policy frameworks for water, forests and energy resources.

Elizabeth Gachenga attend Kianda High School and later pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Nairobi, where they specialized in environmental law. Elizabeth then went on to obtain their LLM and PhD from Western Sydney University.

They are on a team with Stephen Momanyi - Ag. Director, Information & Communication Technology Department, Dorina Telaide - Executive Director, Administration Services, and Anthony Kahindi - University Secretary. Elizabeth Gachenga reports to Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz Braña, Chancellor.
