Melissa Gilbert

Melissa Gilbert has diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Melissa started their career at L'Oreal Inc. and Macy's NW as an Account Coordinator, where they were responsible for scheduling and managing sales associates. Melissa then transitioned into a Fragrance Sales Specialist role, representing and marketing designer fragrances brands in retail stores. Melissa later worked at United Motor Freight Inc. as a Transportation Project Coordinator and Interim Bookkeeper, managing logistic projects and ensuring compliance with regulations. Melissa also owned MG Logistic Solutions LLC, where they offered trucking services and specialized in oversized shipments and large projects. Melissa's role as a Business Owner involved negotiating prices, coordinating with vendors, managing projects from start to finish, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Melissa also worked for Iwatani Corporation of America as a Purchasing Manager and Operations Support, managing logistics, procurement, inventory management, and accounts payable for the hydrogen division. Additionally, Melissa served as Vice President and Events Chair at the National Women's Political Caucus of Washington, where they organized events, fundraised, and chaired board meetings. Melissa Gilbert pursued their education with a focus on communication and politics. From 2004 to 2006, they attended Portland State University where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies, specializing in Communication, General. In 2006, they also obtained a C.F.S.S. Certification from the Fragrance Foundation, focusing on the study of fragrance. In 2011, they attended the Institute for a Democratic Future, where they completed a 6-month fellowship program in Washington State Politics. Prior to their time at Portland State University, they were enrolled at Oklahoma Christian University from 2000 to 2003, studying Public Relations & Advertising, although no specific degree was mentioned for this period.
