Jayan Ozhikandathil has worked in a variety of roles since 2004. Jayan's first job was as a Project Trainee at Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS) - ISRO in 2004. Jayan then worked as a Project Associate at the Indian Institute of Science in 2005 and as a Lecturer at Vimal Jyothi Engineering College in 2006. In 2013, they began working as a Research Scientist (Consultant, Part-time) at Mobecomm Inc. and then as a Research Scientist (Consultant, Part-time) at Lab 177 in 2014. From 2015 to 2019, Jayan worked at Noze as Director Sensor Development, Senior Product Developer, and MEMS and Hardware Product Developer. In 2019, they began working as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Concordia University. Jayan has also held roles as a Research Associate, In-charge of ConSiM Lab Concordia University, Postdoctoral Researcher, and In-charge of Concordia Silicon Microfabrication (ConSIM) Lab.
Jayan Ozhikandathil has a diverse educational background. Jayan completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering (Miniaturized bio/chemical sensors) from Concrodia University between 2008 and 2012. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Tech in Optoelectronics and laser technology (Thesis : MEMS based magnetic sensor) from Cochin University of Science and Technology between 2003 and 2005. Jayan also completed an AMIE in Electronics and Communication Engg from the Institution of Engineers (India) between 1999 and 2002. Finally, they obtained a Diploma in Electronics Engg from Govt. Polytechnic Kasargod between 1994 and 1997.
