Charlie Bourland

Charles Bourland, III has extensive work experience in the medical and surgical industry. Charles is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Strauss Surgical since 2022. Prior to this, they founded and served as CEO at Composite Surgical from 2018 onwards.

Charles has also held the position of President at Antegrade Holdings, a commercial real estate investment and management company, starting in 2017. Additionally, they have been a Board Member at OXOS Medical since 2017.

In 2016, Bourland founded and served as the CEO, Founder, and Inventor at Arthrogenx, a company that developed and manufactured a patented technology for rotator cuff repair. The company was later acquired by Stryker Corporation in June 2017.

Bourland has a history with Strauss Surgical, as they founded the company and served as CEO from 2007 to 2018. Charles also founded and served as CEO at American Medical Endoscopy from 1995 to 2018.

Charles'swork experience also includes serving as the President of Trend Solution Componentes Ltda. from 2012 to 2014, where they transformed a dental implant manufacturer into an arthroscopic implant manufacturing business. Charles was also a Partner at Ariel Savannah Angel Partners from 2007 to 2012, where they invested in medical device companies.

Additionally, Bourland was the Managing Director and Founder of the Miami Anatomical Research Center (MARC) Institute from 2005 to 2012. MARC is now one of the largest surgical training facilities globally.

Charles Bourland, III obtained a High School Diploma from Westminster School in 1977. Charles pursued their Bachelor's degree in English and Economics at Denison University from 1977 to 1981. Later, from 1981 to 1983, Charles pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in International Marketing at the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business. As part of their MBA program, they also participated in the University of Notre Dame MBA London Program, specializing in International Marketing at the London Business School in 1982.
