Christopher McDowell is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in both civil and criminal law. Currently serving as a Shareholder at Strauss Troy since January 2015, McDowell provides comprehensive legal and transactional advice to clients across Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Prior to this role, McDowell was a Partner at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP from March 2000 to January 2015, handling complex legal matters including death penalty appeals and high-stakes contract disputes. McDowell began a legal career in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Generals Corps from January 1994 to March 2000, serving as a Captain and providing legal services to military personnel while also prosecuting criminal cases in multiple regions. McDowell holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from West Virginia University College of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government/History from Marshall University.
