Henk Pijlman

Henk Pijlman has extensive experience in public service and education spanning several decades. Since 2015, Henk Pijlman has served as a Senator for the D66 party in the Eerste Kamer der Staten-Generaal. Additionally, Henk Pijlman has held the position of voorzitter of the raad van toezicht at Streekziekenhuis Koningin Beatrix since January 2021. From 2000 to January 2021, Henk Pijlman was the voorzitter of the College van Bestuur at Hanzehogeschool Groningen and previously served as lid and vicevoorzitter. Henk Pijlman was also a wethouder for education, sports, culture, and administrative renewal in the Gemeente Groningen from 1985 to 2000, and served as a member of the gemeenteraad. Henk Pijlman's early career included teaching history at Kamerlingh Onnes College from 1979 to 1990. Henk Pijlman holds a Doctorandus degree in History from the University of Groningen and a Tweedegraads onderwijsbevoegdheid in History and Dutch from the Lerarenopleiding Ubbo Emmius Groningen.
