Abby Shum

Abby Shum is a versatile technician with extensive experience in laser operation and special effects. Currently serving as a Laser Operator and Crew Chief for the Sam Smith Gloria World Tour since March 2023, Abby also holds a position as Laser and SFX Technician at Strictly FX and works as a Laserist with Seb Lee Production since July 2019, contributing to notable events like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Light Night Leeds. Previous roles include Drone Show Crew at Celestial and Production Technician for the West End Musical Choir, focusing on sound engineering for live broadcasts. Abby's technical skills were further honed during tenure as a Full Stack Developer at Blokur and various technician roles for theatrical productions. Abby holds a degree in Discrete Mathematics, Mathematics, and Computer Science from the University of Warwick.
