Adam Batty

Adam Batty is the current Director at Stride Gaming. Prior to this, they held the position of Group General Counsel and Company Secretary at McCarthy & Stone from January 2020 to September 2021. McCarthy Stone is the UK's largest builder and operator of retirement communities with revenues of approximately £750 million. The company was a member of the FTSE250 until its acquisition by Lone Star (US Private Equity) in February 2021.

Reporting directly to the CEO, Adam was recruited to lead the McCarthy Stone legal and secretariat function with responsibility for governance, litigation/disputes, commercial contracts, property matters, M&A, risk management, governance, insurance, and ESG. Adam was also given procurement function to lead after six months.

Over the last year, Adam supported the Board on the recommended offer by Lone Star, playing a key role in getting the deal approved by shareholders and then working with Lone Star to onboard them and set up appropriate governance and reporting structures. Prior to their work at McCarthy & Stone, Adam served as a Non Executive Director, Chair of RemCo, and member of Audit and Nomination Committees at The Eggfree Cake Box. Adam also Co-Founded and served as Joint Managing Director at Happy Bird Restaurants from January 2017 to December 2019.

Adam Batty has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nottingham and a certification from Nottingham Law School in Legal Practice Course.
