Cris Barbero

Cris Barbero is the current Director of Security & DevOps at Stride Health. Prior to joining Stride, Cris was a Software Development Manager at DHI Group, Inc. where they were responsible for managing a small engineering team focused on enabling DHI's engineering teams to achieve Operational Excellence and Efficiency through Collaboration, Tools, Patterns and Guidance.

Cris has extensive experience in AWS (cloudformation, ec2, lambda, dynamodb, apigateway, cloudwatch, codebuild, codepipeline), terraform, influxdb, grafana, and splunk. Cris is also an expert in guide and training teams on best practices for building and operating distributed, serverless architectures on AWS. During their time at DHI Group, Cris also built and operated AWS CloudFormation custom resources for managing third party resources like bitbucket webhooks, github webhooks, grafana dashboards. In addition, they created an internal cloudformation cli tool to simplify common cloudformation operations. Lastly, Cris was also responsible for budget and vendor management for tools within the delivery and operations portions of the SDLC.

Cris Barbero has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Tufts University. They also have certification from LinkedIn in Bystander Training: From Bystander to Upstander, Communicating Across Cultures, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and Unconscious Bias.
