Soo Mei Teng has a diverse work experience starting in 2014. At SMK Sultan Yahya Petra 1, they worked as a Substitute Teacher for a short period in 2014. In 2017, they interned at Perbadanan Putrajaya. Following that, Soo Mei Teng joined Universiti Tenaga Nasional, where they held multiple roles including Graduate Research Assistant and Event Organizer (Student). They also served as the President of the Student Society Accommodation from 2016 to 2017. Soo Mei Teng then worked at oDesk as a Freelance Translator from 2014 to 2023. In 2021, they joined Nasi Kukus Kelantan as a Customer Relations Manager. Currently, Soo Mei Teng is with Strikingly, first as a Happiness Officer from May 2021 to October 2022, and then as a Customer Service Team Lead from October 2022 to the present. Soo Mei Teng completed their high school studies from SMK Sultan Yahya Petra (1) between 2007 and 2012, focusing on science subjects like biology, physics, and chemistry. In 2012, they pursued their STPM third level education at SMK Pahi. After that, they attended Universiti Tenaga Nasional from 2014 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) (Hons.) degree, specializing in computer programming.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Soo Mei Teng obtained a certification for Certified Professional for Requirement Engineer-Foundation Level from IREB GmbH in July 2016.
