Leona Zahlan

Leona Zahlan has a diverse and extensive work experience. Leona began their career as a Research Assistant/ICD Revision Intern at the World Health Organization in 2013. Leona then moved on to work as a Research Assistant at The Global Mental Health Program at Columbia University from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, Leona joined Anthem, initially as a Business Information Analyst II and later as a Senior Business Information Analyst until 2017.

Following their time at Anthem, Leona worked as a Consultant in Data Insights & Analytics Services at COPE Health Solutions from 2017 to 2018. Leona then joined VillageMD as a Manager in Healthcare Analytics, a role they held from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, Leona was promoted to Senior Manager in Healthcare Analytics at VillageMD, where they worked until 2021.

Currently, Leona is employed at Strive Health, starting in 2021. Initially, they served as the Director of Data Analytics, and they were promoted to the role of Senior Director in 2023.

Leona Zahlan earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology with a Global Health certificate from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology at the University of Miami from 2008 to 2012. Leona also obtained an IB Diploma from Lincoln Community School. In terms of certifications, they hold an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) obtained in July 2022, and additional certifications in Advanced SQL for Data Scientists, SQL: Data Reporting and Analysis, Tableau Desktop Qualified Associate, SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9, and SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 from various institutions. Leona is also Certified in Public Health, recognized by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE).
