Dave Shearer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Dave recently worked at the Stroke Association, starting in 2016. Dave'sroles included Events Manager, Product Manager - Events, Event Manager, and Events Officer. Prior to that, Dave worked at the International Harvest Church Newcastle from 2013 to 2018, where they served as the Operations & Finance Manager and Operations and Finance Manager. Dave began their career at Newcastle City Council in 2007 and held positions as Senior Playworker and Playworker until 2013.
Dave Shearer completed their education with a Foundation Degree in Playwork from Northumbria University, which they attended from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued a BTEC National Award Level 3 in Early Years at Newcastle College, where they studied from 2005 to 2007. Dave'shigh school education was completed at West Gate Community College from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained their GCSE.

The Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. They provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives. Rebuilding lives after a stroke is a team effort. It takes the determination of stroke survivors and carers, the generosity of supporters and the dedication of the healthcare and research communities to get there. To help in the recovery of stroke survivors the Stroke Association provides information, support and advice. Their key areas of work include: support services, information, research, fundraising, campaigning, and volunteering.
