Paulo E. X. Silveira, PhD has extensive experience in the technology and engineering fields. Currently they serve as the Chief Technology Officer at Structure, where they are responsible for team development, technology development roadmap, and monitoring new technology developments.
Prior to their current role, they worked at Occipital as the Co-GM and VP of Engineering, leading teams and launching various 3D-sensing products. At BSX Technologies, they were the VP of R&D, leading the development of wearable monitoring products and new data collection protocols.
Before that, they served as the VP of Engineering at Double Helix Optics, where they established the product development process and developed roadmaps in scientific instrumentation and 3D cameras. At Covidien, they worked as a Technology Team Leader and played a key role in reorganizing the Technology Review Board and developing technology roadmaps for cerebral oximeters.
Paulo E. also held positions at OmniVision and CDM Optics, where they managed product development projects and served as the Director of New Applications, respectively. Additionally, they worked at StorageTek as an Optical Signal Processing Consultant, evaluating optical storage technologies and developing intellectual property strategies. Paulo E. also worked at Network Photonics as an Optoelectronic Engineer, responsible for developing optical switches for fiber networks.
Dr. Silveira started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado, where they conducted research in real-time signal processing using neural networks and designing smart-pixel arrays for optoelectronic neural networks. With their diverse experience and expertise, they have made significant contributions to various companies in the technology and engineering fields.
Paulo E. X. Silveira, PhD started their education at Universidade Estadual de Campinas in 1990, where they studied Electrical Engineering. However, it is unclear if they obtained a degree from this institution. In 1991, they transferred to The University of Kansas and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, which they successfully completed in 1995. Following this, Paulo attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1995 to 1997. Afterward, they continued their studies at the same university and obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering from 1997 to 2001. Paulo further expanded their educational background by pursuing a Master of Engineering degree in Engineering Management at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2005 to 2009.
In addition to their extensive educational background, Paulo also holds a certification in Advanced Open Water from PADI, which was obtained in December 2015.
