Effie Bentz is an Environmental Education Intern at the Student Conservation Association since September 2016, responsible for planning and leading field trips in collaboration with the Chicago Park District, and educating elementary and middle school students on environmental awareness. In addition, Effie serves as Head Barista at Creperie de Paris Chicago since February 2016, and previously worked as a Sustainability Intern at The Kids' Table, where efforts included maintaining raised garden beds and implementing a compost system. Earlier experience features a role as a Zero Waste Intern at Seven Generations Ahead, focusing on composting systems in Chicago Public Schools, and as an Inaugural Camp Counselor Intern at Nature's Farm Camp, where educational programs on sustainable farming were developed. Effie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from DePaul University, obtained in 2017.
