Studio FraJas is the collaborative practice of artists Francisco Rocha Salazar and Jasper Isaac Johns. Their work marries bold, geometric forms with vibrant glaze patterns inspired by natural phenomena. Methodical craftsmanship contrasts with the unpredictable behavior of clay and glaze during firing, giving each piece a unique, lyrical quality. Drawing from a broad palette of handmade glazes, FraJas favors those that overflow, rivulet, or react with layers of slip and glaze below—introducing organic irregularity to structured forms. The result is a dialogue between order and spontaneity.
