Studio Goodwin Sturges is an artists’ agency dedicated to nurturing authors and illustrators and developing quality literature for children. Judy Sue Goodwin Sturges, owner and founder of the Studio, is also a professor of illustration at Rhode Island School of Design, where she teaches many book-related courses.

Since its inception in 1989, the Studio has been dedicated to fostering the growth of each artist in the portfolio. The Studio’s collaborative environment encourages dialogue among artists, Studio staff, and publishing professionals. Currently, the Studio works with children’s book publishers across the country and artists and authors around the world.

Books by Studio authors and illustrators have been named New York Times Best Illustrated Books and have won the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, the SCBWI Golden Kite Award, and silver medals at the Society of Illustrators, among many other honors. Judy Sue and her staff are passionate about books of all kinds, from cookbooks to artist’s books, but their greatest love is the unique art form of the picture book.
