Hong D. has worked in the energy sector since 2010, beginning at Shell. During their time there, they held multiple roles, including Innovation and Performance Program Manager, X-Digi Programme Manager, Finance Manager North America Exploration, and Exploration Finance Rep - Latin America. In 2020, they co-founded Studio X, an open innovation studio launching products that re-imagine the future of work in exploration. Powered by Shell, the studio provides technology, tools, community, and resources to help nurture big ideas and solve problems in exploration.

Hong D. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston, followed by an MBA from Cardean University.
