Michael Tischer Ph.D.

Michael Tischer Ph.D. has a long and varied work experience. From 2005 to 2012, they worked as an Exploration Geologist for ExxonMobil. At Dolan Integration Group (DIG) from 2012 to 2015, they held the role of Petroleum Geologist, with a focus on regional hydrocarbon systems. From 2015 to 2018, they were an Exploration Project Manager and Project Geoscientist at NEOS GeoSolutions. In 2018, they became an Independent Geoscience Contractor for Fracture ID, where they built geologic frameworks for the Williston and Permian Basin using public and proprietary well data. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Senior Geoscientist as an Independent Consultant. Currently, they are a Geoscience Consultant and Instructor at On The Rocks GeoConsulting LLC, and will soon be starting as a Project Manager at Studio X in 2022.

Michael Tischer Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geology/Earth Science, General from Columbia University between 1998 and 2005. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Physics from University at Buffalo between 1996 and 1997. Michael also obtained a Pre-Diploma in Physics from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg between 1994 and 1996. In addition, they obtained an edX Verified Certificate for Climate Change: Carbon Capture and Storage from edX in January 2022.
