Jes Smith

Principal at STUDIOS Architecture

“To me, design is about listening and investigating, discovering the real issues that need to be resolved, developing the vision of how things should be, and then working together to make that vision reality. This process is very exciting to me and why I’ve always loved STUDIOS.”

As an Architect and Interior Designer, Jes has an inherent understanding of the built environment. His unique perspective and background enable him to take a holistic approach to design, bridging disciplines, creating innovative solutions, and streamlining processes to deliver some of STUDIOS’ most demanding and transformational projects to-date.

Jes leads a diverse practice at STUDIOS with work that ranges from Workplace Strategy and Programming, to large-scale new construction projects up to 6 million square feet. Since joining STUDIOS in 2002, he has worked with a variety of high-profile clients in the U.S. and abroad. Significant corporate and government projects include MetLife’s Retail Headquarters, the CSEC-Long Term Accommodation Project (CSEC-LTAP), the Department of Defense/BRAC-133 consolidation, the MacDonald Block Reconstruction Project, and the Pentagon Renovation Wedges 2 through 5.
