Olli-Pekka Rauhala

Olli-Pekka Rauhala is a Senior Specialist at STUK - Säteilyturvakeskus, where responsibilities include CBRN specialization and project management, along with serving as the rescEU Medical work package leader since April 2024. Previously, Olli-Pekka worked as a Research Scientist at VTT from August 2019 to April 2024, focusing on nuclear safety research, nuclear waste management, and radiation protection team coordination. Olli-Pekka held the position of Radiation Safety Engineer at Posiva Oy from November 2017 to August 2019, managing nuclear safety for spent nuclear fuel disposal facilities. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at the University of Turku, investigating porous materials, and as a First Lieutenant in the Finnish Defence Forces, where roles included leading a special jaeger squad and performing CBRN reconnaissance. Olli-Pekka holds a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Turku, earned from 2011 to 2017.
