Gemma Carroll has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Gemma began their career as a Research Assistant Internship at Ellis Vision Incorporated in 2005. Gemma then worked as a Freelance PR Assistant at AMPR Public Relations, where they drafted press releases, arranged press tours, and managed guest lists at film and music festivals. In 2006, they served as the UK Press Officer for Umbria Jazz, where they were responsible for issuing press releases and managing British volunteers. From 2008 to 2011, they worked at the UK Ministry of Justice as a Case Strategist, handling CICA Applications and building relationships with various stakeholders. In 2012, they joined Chesapeake Branded Packaging as a Training Systems Developer and HR - Training & Development personnel. Gemma developed an electronic training system and managed recruitment processes. From 2013 to 2023, they worked at Search Consultancy in various roles, including Employment Status & Construction Compliance Coordinator, Resourcer / Labour Manager - Construction, and Recruitment & Payroll Administrator. Gemma implemented compliance processes, conducted regular checks, and administered contracts. Gemma'smost recent position, starting in 2023, is Compliance Officer at STV Group plc.

Gemma Carroll attended the University of the West of Scotland from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication and Media Studies. In 2005, they also briefly attended the Harris Institute to study Public Relations/Image Management, although they did not receive a degree from this institution.
