Alexia Leclercq, M.Ed, is a dedicated advocate for environmental justice and educational reform, currently serving as Co-Founder and Executive Director of Start:Empowerment, a nonprofit established in 2019 to develop curriculum addressing the impacts of pollution and climate issues. In addition to this role, Alexia is a 776 Fellow at the 776 Foundation, receiving a $100,000 grant for Start:Empowerment under the mentorship of Alexis Ohanian. Alexia also holds positions as Policy Director, Environmental Policy & Campaign Manager, and Research Analyst at PODER Austin, and serves as the UT-City Climate CoLab Manager at the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin. Furthermore, Alexia is a member of the advisory boards for SubjectToClimate and Enterprise for Youth, and has participated as a campaign organizer for COP28 UAE and as a conference coordinator at The Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability at Harvard University. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Economics of Inequality from NYU Gallatin.
