Eduardo Porter

Eduardo Porter is an accomplished writer and columnist with extensive experience in economics and journalism. Currently, Eduardo serves as a writer at Substack and a columnist for The Guardian, roles assumed in late 2025. Prior to this, Eduardo contributed as a columnist and editorial writer for The Washington Post from October 2023 to July 2025 and was a columnist for Bloomberg News from June 2022 to October 2023. A significant part of Eduardo's career includes a long tenure at The New York Times from January 2004 to June 2022, where responsibilities encompassed economics reporting, column writing, and membership on the editorial board. Additional experience includes senior writing roles at The Wall Street Journal, deputy editorship and editorship at AméricaEconomia, and various reporting positions at Notimex. Eduardo holds a Master of Science in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
