Daniel Whettam

Daniel Whettam is a Machine Learning Engineer currently leading efforts at Sulmara, focusing on cutting-edge ML and computer vision solutions to support the energy transition. They earned a PhD in Interactive Artificial Intelligence from the University of Bristol, where their research centered on self-supervised, multi-modal computer vision and deep learning. Daniel has previously worked as an AI Research Engineer at Imagination Technologies and has held various roles in academia, including a Teaching Assistant position at the University of Bristol and a Laboratory Demonstrator at the University of Hull. They also have experience as a Research Assistant at STFC, where they explored deep learning techniques for speech recognition. Daniel holds a Master's degree in Data Science from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Hull.
