Danielle Smith

Danielle Smith serves as the Research and Development Manager at Sulzer since May 2023, following over a decade at Phillips 66 where roles included Project Development Supervisor and Project Development Process Engineer. As Project Development Supervisor, Danielle led teams in developing front-end loaded capital projects and managing a five-year capital plan for the Billings Refinery. Previous roles at Phillips 66 also included Director of Air and CO2 and Team Lead, where responsibilities involved managing research teams, defining strategies, and overseeing laboratory construction for air quality studies. Danielle's early career included positions as an Associate Engineer at ConocoPhillips and at Paul Mueller Company, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, focusing on nanocrystals for photovoltaics. Danielle holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
