In 1998 Terry became the CEO of Epitonic, a 30-person online music company based in San Francisco, which featured free MP3 downloads, and full album streams—way before Spotify. Epitonic was backed with $3.5 million from CNET and angel investors, and was sold in 2001 to Palm Entertainment. Hanging up his rock star vests, Terry moved to market GoToMyPC software via PPC and other online marketing channels. It soon led to a $225 million acquisition of GoToMyPC by Citrix Systems in 2003.
Next Terry founded Sum Digital (formerly CPC Search) in 2005. He grew it from experts in PPC Search to a full service digital marketing partner.
Throughout his marketing career, Terry has played a lot of ping-pong and managed search & other online marketing channels that have generated millions of dollars in revenue for his clients.
Terry received his MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, and his BA from UC Berkeley in Political Economics. He is certified in Google Search advertising. When not sneaking into SXSW Keynote addresses he can be found music blasting.
