Maria Paz Otero has a diverse work experience in the field of sustainable construction and LEED certification. Maria Paz Otero began their career as an Arquitecto Junior at Estudio Fogel and later worked as an Arquitecto Junior at Estudio Jorge Bello. Maria Paz Otero then moved on to roles as a Documentación técnica at Estudio de Marina Lando and Estudio MAJA. Maria Paz then worked as a Project Manager at Estudio Montani, coordinating building projects and providing project advice and construction direction. Maria Paz Otero also had consulting roles at IBRID and Peru Green Building Council, where they focused on LEED certification and sustainable design and construction. Currently, they serve as the CEO of SUMAC, offering comprehensive tools and advisory services for LEED certification of educational and corporate projects, as well as proposing technical-economic solutions to new clients and providing support throughout the project lifecycle.

Maria Paz Otero, a LEED Project Manager, has a diverse education history. Maria Paz Otero started their education journey in 1990, where they studied English and French at the Alianza Francesa for four years, achieving a "First Certificate" in both languages. In 2005, they enrolled at F.A.D.U. and completed their degree in Architecture, Design, and Urbanism in 2011. Seeking further expertise, Maria Paz pursued a Master's degree in Architecture and Sustainable Habitat at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata from 2017 to 2019.
