Ryan Chen Yutao

Ryan Chen Yutao has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Ryan Chen began their career as an Editor for Ling-Lunch, a popular social media platform in China that focuses on linguistics and languages. Ryan Chen then worked as a Volunteer Assistant at ASB Biodiesel, where they facilitated communication between the biodiesel plant and university faculties. Ryan Chen also organized a field trip for a postgraduate class to the biodiesel fuel plant.

Ryan then served as an Assistant Project Officer at Friends of the Earth, followed by a role as a Project Assistant at the Environmental Protection Department in Hong Kong SAR. Ryan Chen later worked as a Project Research Assistant at HKUST, where they conducted research projects.

Ryan's experience also includes working as a Management Trainee at China Resources (Holdings) Co, where they managed key clients and conducted workplace inspections. Ryan Chen then joined QIMA as a Key Account Audit Services Leader, overseeing global auditors' performance and collaborating with key clients on CSR, environmental, and quality management audits.

Ryan also worked as a Sustainability/ESG Consultant at CECEP Environmental Consulting Group, advising on sustainability and ESG matters.

Currently, Ryan is employed at Sumerra as a Compliance Project Specialist. Ryan Chen will soon transition to the role of Project Manager, where they will lead and manage projects within the company.

Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated a strong focus on sustainability and environmental initiatives. Ryan Chen has been involved in various projects and roles that contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable practices.

Ryan Chen Yutao began their education in 2011 at Hong Kong Baptist University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science in 2015. Ryan Chen then pursued further studies at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, earning a Master's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety in 2016.

In addition to their academic achievements, Ryan obtained various certifications in different fields. In 2015, they became a certified Soil and Groundwater Assessment and Remediation Engineer through the China Environmental Remediation Industry Alliance. Ryan Chen also completed a Training Certificate of Infection Control in the Workplace offered by the Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Council, and a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course provided by Mental Health First Aid Australia.

Throughout 2015 and 2016, Ryan attended multiple training courses, including AutoCAD 2D & 3D Professional Drafting and Design, ISO 22000 / HACCP Food Safety Management System Implementation, Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2015 Implementation, and Certificate Course on Import/ Export and Logistics Practices.

In 2016, they completed a CSR Auditor Training on Avoiding Modern Slavery organized by Verité. The following year, Ryan obtained certifications in OHSAS 18001:2007 Internal Auditor, Lean Manufacturing and ISO9001:2015 from Foresight's Global Coaching, and NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH.

Ryan continued to enhance their professional qualifications in 2018, earning a GRI Certified Training Program Certificate from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and becoming a National Cleaner Production Auditor certified by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China.
