Markus Jachmann

Markus Jachmann is a seasoned marketing professional with extensive experience in the chemical industry. Currently serving as the Global Lead Marketing at Sumitomo Chemical since April 2025, Markus previously held the position of Senior Marketing Manager at Valent U.S.A. LLC from April 2020 to May 2025. Earlier, Markus was part of Sumitomo Chemical in various marketing roles, including Marketing Product Manager for Insecticides and Manager of the Insecticides Team, as well as Global Business Development. The career began at Sumitomo Chemical in 2003, focusing on process development and lead discovery for insecticides. Prior academic experience includes a postdoctoral position at The University of Tokyo specializing in asymmetric catalysis and natural product synthesis, following a Doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of Cologne.
