Martin has worked on issues related to sustainability and finance in many contexts. As responsible for overseeing the Norwegian Government Pension Fund in the Ministry of Finance, he was engaged in developing its guidelines for responsible investing.
He is a board member in a wide range of different companies. As a board member in Storebrand, a large asset manager and pension provider, he participates in discussions on how to implement an ambitious sustainability program. In Norfund, he works on promoting investments that contribute to development in the poorest countries in the world. As Chair of UN PRI (Principles of Responsible Investment), he promotes and expands responsible practices globally.
