Trudy Spooner has over 10 years of work experience in various roles across different industries. Trudy is currently serving as the Director - Client Solutions at Summerhill Group, a leading Canadian-owned and women-led Energy Services Company. In this role, Trudy is responsible for designing and implementing energy efficiency programs for clients, ensuring robust program designs and customer engagement.
Prior to their current role, Trudy worked as a Project Manager and Client Success Manager at discoverygarden inc. from 2016 to 2018. Trudy also served as a Program Manager at Thinkwell Research in 2015 and as a Seasonal Educator at lululemon athletica during the same year. Trudy gained experience as a Project Manager at Paradigm Consulting Group from 2013 to 2015.
In 2011, Trudy founded their own consulting firm, Trudy Spooner Consulting, where they focused on community engagement, facilitation, stakeholder consultation, and climate change adaptation research. Trudy worked on projects involving multiple stakeholders with diverse interests.
Before starting their consulting firm, Trudy held roles as an Environmental Consultant at Lura Consulting from 2010 to 2011, an Intern at Stantec in 2009, and a member of the Rural Poverty and Environment Branch at IDRC from April to November 2009.
Trudy Spooner completed their education in a chronological manner. Trudy began their academic journey at Strathcona Composite High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma from 1998 to 2001. Trudy then attended Dalhousie University from 2001 to 2005, earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development Studies and Environmental Studies. Trudy furthered their education at Dalhousie University from 2008 to 2009, obtaining a Masters degree in Resource and Environmental Management.
Trudy also pursued additional certifications to enhance their professional skills. In June 2015, they completed a Change Management certification from Prosci. In October 2011, they obtained the "Stepping Up to Management" certification from Harvard Business School. Trudy acquired a PRINCE2 Project Management certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in November 2012. Additionally, they earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in April 2014. Trudy's last certification was a Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in April 2015.
