Maria Kraemer

Project Manager II at Summit Biosciences

Maria Kraemer is currently a Project Manager II at Summit Biosciences Inc. Prior to that, they were a Post Doctoral Scholar at the University of Kentucky from 2017-2021. From 2010-2017, they were a Ph.D. Candidate at Vanderbilt University, obtaining a Ph.D. in Biochemistry with an emphasis in cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology. From 2008-2009, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, conducting field research in Costa Rica and chemistry laboratory research at UAH. Projects involved collecting and testing plant essential oils against identified potential pharmacological targets for Chagas disease, bacterial infections, cancer, and Alzhemier's disease. Additionally, they were a Summer Researcher at Vanderbilt University in 2009, participating in the summer science academy undergraduate research experience in pharmacology. Maria identified positive allosteric modulators of muscarinic receptors.

Maria Kraemer attended Vanderbilt University from 2010 to 2016, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry. Prior to that, they attended The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2006 to 2010 and earned their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
