Katerina Kryst has extensive work experience in various roles within the engineering and technology development field. Katerina currently holds the position of VP of Engineering at Summit Nanotech since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Koch Separation Solutions from May 2014 to May 2023, where they served as a Technology Development Manager and led a development group in the incubation of the Li-PRO lithium extraction process. Katerina was responsible for managing and leading the technology development group, evaluating and developing new ion exchange processes, optimizing purification systems, resolving process issues, and ensuring quality assurance.

Before their role at Koch Separation Solutions, Katerina worked at Cameco Corporation from 2007 to 2013 as a Scientist/Engineer in the Cameco Technology Innovation - Research Centre. In this role, they managed and supported research projects in uranium processing, hydrometallurgy, waste management, and process monitoring. Katerina was also responsible for developing project proposals, work plans, milestones, and budgets.

Katerina's work experience also includes a role as a Research/Teaching Assistant at Western University from 2000 to 2006, where they contributed to research and teaching activities.

At the start of their career, Katerina gained experience as a Process/Production/Project engineering intern at LANXESS formerly Bayer Rubber Inc. in 1997-1998.

Overall, Katerina Kryst has a strong background in engineering, technology development, research, and project management, with expertise in ion exchange processes, purification systems, and lithium extraction.

Katerina Kryst has a strong educational background in chemical engineering. Katerina obtained their Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering from Western University between 1994 and 2000. Following this, they pursued a higher level of education and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in chemical engineering from the same institution between 2000 and 2008.

In addition to their chemical engineering education, Katerina Kryst also participated in the World Nuclear University's (WNA) Summer Institute in 2011. As a WNU - Summer Institute Fellow, they studied nuclear industry and leadership development.
